1. If you are interested in using Zocku
Zocku will initially be available to Network Owners with existing SocialGO mature networks. Existing SocialGO networks that wish to use the Zocku platform will be seamlessly moved over by our technical team upon successful application and initial payment. Network Owners do not have to do anything else!
Network Owners who wish to become early adopters of Zocku.com can apply to transfer from SocialGO to Zocku by registering interest here. We will email you within 48 hours of your application to advise when your network can be transferred.
If your network address was mynetwork.socialgo.com, it will become mynetwork.zocku.com. But don’t worry, your old URL will redirect users for the next 3 months so you have time to let your members know.
All transfers from SocialGO to Zocku are expected to take place prior to 15 February 2009, after which SocialGO will no longer host networks with mature content that is of a sexual nature.
2. If you are not interested in using Zocku
By providing a dedicated environment for mature content at Zocku, SocialGO will soon no longer accept networks with mature content that is of a sexual nature after 15 February 2009. Existing SocialGO mature networks that do not wish to use the Zocku platform will have the option to purchase a full Database Export of their site content and membership data prior to a scheduled deactivation of any such network. Any deactivation of a network will only occur with reasonable notice and within a reasonable time period and never will a Network Owner be deprived of their data or content.
3. When will Zocku be open to new networks?
For the time being priority will be given to Network Owners that have already created quality mature networks on SocialGO and wish to transfer from SocialGO to Zocku. We are planning to open Zocku to new networks from 15 February 2009. In the meantime mature networks can continue to join SocialGO for FREE and then migrate over before 15 February 2009.
4. Will Zocku be fast and reliable?
Zocku will be a dedicated platform with its own totally dedicated hosting infrastructure in the USA, plus a premium support team. It will be exclusively for quality Owners of mature content networks that are interested in paying for a quality service. It will not be weighed down by network owners that are only interested in abusing the platform as free-loaders.
5. Can Network Owners be sure they’ll get quality service?

Just wait a day or so and we will schedule a transfer time for you. We will give you plenty of warning so have time to do a few small things in your admin centre plus process a payment and then we will transfer you over. The transfer will take 10mns and taht it, hey presto you will be in Zocku world.

a couple of questions:
1. will performance be better an assured on Zocku as opposed to SocialGo? Can you explain the performance issue with SocialGo? has it got anything to do with the large migration of networks from Ning?
2. what assurances can we have that a Ning Incident wouldn't repeat itself should we decide to invest our resources in setting up our Network with Zocku? (bearing in mind Ning started off really ra-ra about allowing Adult Networks only to eat their words one year later).

Since you tried out SocialGO things have improved dramatically. The slow performance was due to the influx of new networks and our traffic growing by 1000% in a matter of days. That problem has now been resolved and things are running smoothly.
For our adult networks we have created a dedicated hosting infrastructure which will be carefully monitored to ensure high speed. We have increased our network operations team and monitoring services and invested heavily to ensure quality of service.
We have deliberatley separated adult and non-adult networks to stop us from doing anything like you experianced on ning.

We offer Member Billing as an option to networks that want to bill their members. In order to do this the network owner must create a PayPal account and meet PayPals terms and conditions. It is entirely between the network owner and PayPal. We have thousands of networks none of which are the same, so it is not possible nor is it our right to decide if any particular network meets PayPal’s terms.
We are working on alternative payment providers at the moment to allow more networks to take advantage of this.
With regards to Zocku vs hosting your own social networks, there is far more to a service such as this than hosting most normal websites. Video encoding, flash chat, multiple concurrent users and scaling are just some of the considerations.

Why do you have as SosialGo authorize Adult contents, and now force them and us to migrate to Zocku (paying I am not surprise, business is business). Are you not be afraid that people from Ning who have been obliged to change to SocialGo and now Zocku. With Grou.ps, or OVH in France it's practicaly free, exept a few if you need 1TO storage.Ok my english is bad, I would prefer explain myself in French. But I feel upset and manipulate in that story, and other people of adults contents will begin to react like me.

As you say, pricing has always been part of the plan. It is designed for network owners who are looking to build long term networks on our platform. We are investing in infrastructure that costs money and would prefer that you pay a fair price for what we are offering rather than having to change things further down the line.
Remember, that the base Zocku price is $49.99 which is the same as you would be paying for white label and premium on SocialGO....they just come as standard on Zocku.

How is $70 competative with other places such as GoDaddy.com? I can get UNLIMITED bandwidth and uploads plus 1,000 emails for 14.99 yet you guys bascially BS'ed us over the last few months thinking it would be reasonable.
The Social Networking software such as Dolphin or Joomla is FREE. You guys are even trying to charge for "white label" and if you go through someone like GoDaddy.com; there is NO mention of their company anywhere on the site.
This entire thing seems to be a rip off scam and the fact that you deleted my first comment about this just backs that up.

Up to you to stay or go (of course). We have a team of 20 people working on developing and evolving SocialGO and Zocku as a platform. This is not a hosting company and the comparison is extremely simplistic and totally incorrect. You can get unlimited hosting for $1 is you look around. We have worked for 2 years to bring this together and would love for you to be a part of what we are trying to do but if you don't, we'll be sorry to see you go.

It is between you and PayPal if your transactions meet PayPals terms. We have networks in all different shapes and sizes doing all different things. All I know is that loads of "adult" sites on the platform have been happily using PayPal to charge members and have had no problems.

Just a warning Pay Pal is on a witch hunt against anything gay.
After a phone call that went no where the rep at the Executive Escilations dept made the statement that ALL transactions for what they feel is in adult in nature will have their account closed. Only they can decide what they deem is in violation, not the District attourney or Judge I had review the info.
When questioned further it came out that even buyers accounts will be closed with out recourse or warning. When further pressed about the laws in the states where the members are they said they don’t care or will follow those laws, They can do what they want.
So Look out Pay Pal is gunning for you as well which will make your life miserable in the long run

I have two comments/questions about this,
1. You say Socialgo and Zocku are IDENTICAL and it's just a matter of flicking a switch.
As a network creator on Socialgo I don't think it is ready for ANY pricing plan with all of the problems it has. I don't want to fight all of these identical problems on Zocku at my expence. The present problems will just continue.
2. Also why the big diference between the pricing plans of the two Networks. Does it cost more to host a picture or video with clothes off.
Now about paid memberships. I'm not oposed to it if it's done right but I have big questions about PAYPAL. I have another Adult content web site and PayPal refuse to let me use them on it.They use to do it before they became part of ebay and after that they put a stop to any site with adult content. One of your Networks on Socialgo was fighting with them over it just a few weeks ago.
If you are planning to charge for their service I hope you have a contract or a letter of commentment with them for ADULT menbership billings.
Why can't you set up another service to host your Adult billings and keep Paypal for the non-Adult.

I know you have control over both Socialgo and Zocku Networks. I WILL NOT pay one penny for my site http"//dayplayerfriends.socialgo.com until I know you have a good Billing Agent in place.
I am moving forward with my site as if this will happen so at the time I will be ready for it. In the mean time if you choose to delete my site from Socialgo I WILL NOT come back later.
I'm still puzzled why for $49.99 Zocku only gives 7 GB Max Storage and 70 GB Max Bandwidth. While SG's premium for $24.99 gets 5 GB Max Storage and 50 Max Bandwidth.
Besides that, the only thing that Zocku is offering is white labeling and the "dedicated premium support". Still seems to not be fair for charging twice as much of SG's plan. I could understand $35 a month for the current zocku premium plan.
But anyway members that are paying the high $49.99 plus tax are going to be very demanding, I'm sure you know that.
I'm not complaining so please don't take it that way. I'll have to be amongst the others paying the high price but I'll do it when things are the way they should be. I'll join even sooner if I hear the widget store opens.
